We expand our nonwoven division capacity

New production line expanding our nonwoven division capacity.

PIEL, S.A. was involved in an investment project from December of last year 2019 until October 2020, to introduce a “new polyester fiber (nappa) line expanding our non-woven section”. This gives us greater production capacity, better quality and the possibility of developing new technical nappa products.

This project, with file number IDI-20200532, has been financed by the CDTI and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the pluriregional operational program of Spain 2014-2020.

Quality, design, R + D + i and the constant upgrade of our machinery are the pillars on which PIEL,S.A. sustains its competitiveness. We offer quality, flexibility, design and service. We design innovative and competitive products with technical guarantees which are the result of optimized processes. Thus, we have diversified our products adapting to the needs of the market, adding new technical markets, such as nonwovens (Napa) for building purposes ( acoustic insulation, equipment and infrastructure) to manufacturing fabrics for upholstery, decoration and home textiles which were our strength during the first years. This of course required adapting our production scheme of looms and nonwovens and our small finishing equipment and human resources to the new demands.

As for today, Polyester fiber for filling, filters and building purposes has become our star product with continuous growth, and this line of business has become a priority, incorporating new machines in order to have a greater productive capacity.

An example of this has been the present CDTI investment project with the incorporation of a second, top of the line Napa section with a maximum width of 4.40 meters. This will improve the previous one to develop new, larger products with higher weight, producing a greater range in the fineness of the fibers and more environmentally sustainable.
